Guided Groundwork
$40 (plus travel fee if one applies)
Groundwork is one of the most important foundations to a relationship with your horse but sometimes it can be tricky. I can guide you through multiple different techniques in getting your horse to respect and trust you as his/her partner on the ground. Includes: lunging, round-penning (if available), backing exercises, turn on the forehand, turn on the hindquarters, leading and stopping off body language and voice cues. This can also include teaching your horse fun tricks! This can all be super helpful to a new horse and rider combo, spooky/nervous horses, nervous riders, pushy horses, and more!
Walk, Trot, Canter Under-saddle
$50 (plus travel fee if one applies)
I offer guidance on how to become more connected with your horse at all 3 gaits; walk, trot, canter. Along with working in all 3 of these gaits, we will work on transitions and getting you and your horse more in sync through up and down transitions. This can help anyone struggling with a horse that anticipates or rushes your cues. This can also help a nervous rider feel more in touch with their horse and gain confidence and trust. This service also includes helping both horse and rider with proper position and aids for their discipline.
Practicing Patterns and/or Jumping Exercises
$60 (plus travel fee if one applies)
If you are wanting more specific help with feeling more connected to your horse when working on patterns or jumping, then this is the service for you! I can help you and your horse work through patterns (dressage, western pleasure, working western) and jumping courses (hunter-jumper, eventing) while remaining in sync. Learn to build a stronger trust/bond with your horse to make patterns and jumping safer and even more fun. This service can be very helpful to horse/rider combos struggling with quiet aids in patterns, maintaining a relaxed/proper form and/or horse/rider combos struggling with approaching jumps, finding correct distances, and maintaining a relaxed/proper form through the jumping process.

More about Me
My name is Taylor Winstead. I have grown up loving horses ever since my first birthday when my parents put me up on a pony with pink tack and pink sparkles on her rump! I started riding when I was 8 years old and haven’t slowed down since. I grew up in the hunter-jumper world but I have recently transitioned over into the eventing world. I haven’t competed in eventing just yet as I am still learning the ropes to be a safe and confident event rider, but I am getting closer to being able to compete everyday! To further my knowledge of horses and riding, I attended the Martin Community College Equine Program and graduated with my associates in Equine Training as well as an associates in Equine Business. While I was there, I learned about equine anatomy, equine psychology, rider psychology, proper equitation in both English and Western disciplines, equine reproduction, proper equine nutrition, equine business management, equine management, proper saddle fitting, safe riding instruction (beginners, intermediate, advanced) and how to start young horses under-saddle. Since then, I have focused on my own riding with my own horse, Rhea, a 12 year old Hanoverian. I intend to do a lot of eventing shows with her and move up in the levels! However, during my attendance at MCC, I discovered my love for teaching riders and horses! This passion has allowed me to become a natural instructor who strives to see riders succeed with their horse and most importantly, learn to love and trust riding their horse even more. Seeing a horse and rider become even closer through their training brings the utmost joy to me and I would like to provide that to anyone who may be interested!
